Thank you. We were so excited to see the package that I tore it open and tried it on Ivan at 1140pm [I checked the mail late].
Ivan sniffed the harness for a good long while, wagged his tail and was ready to GO!
And by “GO” I mean, out the door, down the steps, WAY overconfident. Me included. So our spirits were GREAT, but our balance was not.
The door to our apt building was propped open. With his new found enthusiasm, Ivan and I tumbled ass over teakettle down the steps and out the door. He veered off to the right and landed in some bushes, but me…well I was still connected by a short leash but abruptly halted by the wooden railing that he slid through underneath. Since I had the leash in my right hand, the rail made a lovely dark violet colour, met with alizarin red on my arm.
Poor Ivan. But, ever the champ, he shook it off while I whimpered, rocking back and forth on the curb.
I do think he was a little tender today, as he wasn’t his usual sweet self. But he agreed to pose for a pic with the harness, looking skyward toward Scout and Crystal in thanks.
Your post brought tears to my eyes. To see Ivan wearing Scout’s harness (and looking Heavenward) made me so very happy (I love the Angel Exchange!). Scout and Crystal were incredible dogs– Scout was the love of my life, and only good things can come to Ivan when he’s wearing that harness. I know Scout is looking out for him and pulling for him. I hope that one day, strapping, healthy 150 pound Ivan outgrows that harness and you’ll need to upgrade to the XL. Sending love, Catherine and Spirit Scout
Oh, I’m sorry, I should have started with– that is a terrible bruise; I am glad you were not seriously hurt
Thanks Catherine!
Nah, the bruise’ll be gone in a few. I am just a crybaby. You’d think I’d have learned to take a few hits, being in martial arts.
Incidentally, I did not do anything at all to “pose” Ivan looking upward. He just spontaneously looked up as soon as I snapped.
I thought it was cute.
Owie on the bruise! But seems like a good sign that he was so raring to go! Love the shot of him looking heavenward. The Angel Exchange is pawesome. I too hope he soon is big and strong enough to outgrow that harness.
Hang in there Ivan!

Oh his picture brings a great big smile to my face :)! I’m glad that he likes it, (although maybe a little too much by the looks of your bruise)!
Christina, he really enjoyed giving it the good sniff over. And we found a few doggy hairs still clinging to the inside and I left a few in for good vibes, and a few I took out and kissed and blew off the balcony. So a little bit of Scout and or Crystal is definitely here with us!
P.S. I had to undo the belly strap for the pic because the way he was lying down, he was panting so hard that it looked a bit tight. Sorry you can’t see so much of the harness. But WOW- when they say “Ruff Wear” they are NOT kidding! That thing took a beating down the stairs!
Oh he looks so handsome in his harness!
Hope that bruise goes away soon, it really looks like it hurts. Glad it wasn’t serious.
I am so pleased to hear that Ivan loves his harness so much. Crossing my fingers that this is the first of many new happy postings about Ivan’s journey!

Crystal’s fur tends to do that. I even put it through the washer machine before I sent it off but I still find Crystal’s fur everywhere even though it’s been over a month.
I just wanted to add, that photo is priceless. Not only is Ivan looking towards the heavens but he has a look of complete adoration and an “I can’t belive my good luck, it’s too good to be true” expression. It brings tears to my eyes.
